Managing projects of various sizes and types, Inter-Tel needed a consistent, repeatable project management process for managers. The company also needed to improve team collaboration and document management capabilities. In 2003, Inter-Tel upgraded to the Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Solution with the assistance of Microsoft Gold Certified Partner interZnet for implementation and customizations. Now project managers are better equipped to manage the three to five projects they are assigned, whereas before it was a struggle to handle more than one. There is process consistency across projects. Documents are centrally located and accessible, and teams can make better use of resources. Finally, executives have the timely information they need to monitor performance and progress.
