Having pioneered the global delivery of IT services and thereby revolutionised the efficiency and effectiveness of application development and maintenance, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been increasingly at the heart of optimising the broader IT ecosystems of major organisations.
TCS OptimizeIT uses extensive benchmark data from the MIT CISR research programs, other industry sources and TCS' own extensive database to pinpoint areas where improvements can be made, even if these are currently perceived to be performing well. From this Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) are identified which allow the release of funds from 'quick wins', whilst 'big ticket' propositions identify longer term improvements which sustain growth and competitiveness. Each OFI is backed by significant real-world TCS experience, and case studies indicate the magnitude of improvement which is typically attained.
Recommendations are also made to focus effort and expenditure on those technology elements which have high impact, leveraging the value of existing assets and facilitating implementation of strategic goals. To achieve this aim, TCS OptimizeIT utilises the concept of investment levers, each of which has a specific effect. These levers themselves are the subject of some of our white papers, which collectively provide an overall picture of best practice in IT optimisation.
