The official bank for the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, Banrisul is dedicated to promoting the social and economic development of the state. To maintain business-critical systems, Banrisul had been relying on an outdated project methodology that ran on an IBM z/OS platform in distributed environments, leading to high labor costs and unpredictable project results. The bank wanted to boost its resource utilization capabilities by optimizing its oversight of numerous Information Technology (IT) projects and personnel resources. Leveraging IBM Rational software, Banrisul implemented a Project Management Office (PMO) solution that provides the access to internal processes and real-time visibility that it needs to fully utilize its IT resources and maintain the predictability of its projects.
