Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers uses the same generation of technology in the Remote Agent for NetWare Systems as did BEWS 10. There are however some enhancements and changes to some operations. Using this agent, users of Backup Exec can back up the NetWare file system, Novell Directory Services (NDS) and GroupWise databases on NetWare servers. This paper describes in detail how to configure and use Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers to back up and restore remote Novell NetWare servers using the Remote Agent for NetWare Systems (RANW). It also provides the background detail necessary to diagnose issues with the installation and usage of the RANW.
