The purpose of this paper is to help readers migrate their applications when they are migrating the underlying database from Microsoft SQL Server to Oracle9i Database. Most of the issues encountered when migrating applications to use an Oracle9i Database are related to database incompatibility. This paper presents these incompatibilities and provides solutions for many issues. The choices made about how to migrate readers' application affect how they migrate the underlying database from Microsoft SQL Server to Oracle9i Database.
