In order to maintain its market position in Venezuela, General Mills needs to be strategic in its business acumen, including making highly informed decisions. To do so, managers need access to precise, complete, and up-to-date information on the company. A combined team from General Mills, Microsoft Consulting Services, and Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Gesfor Osmos created a Business Intelligence (BI) solution. The solution - essentially a tool for enabling access to business intelligence - is based on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system, part of Microsoft's line of server software, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
