Absa Bank is one of South Africa's largest financial services organizations, serving the personal, commercial, and corporate banking needs of its customers. Absa experiences many of the challenges common to the banking industry, namely, increased competition and a need to serve customers with innovative, timely products delivered in a desirable format. Absa is moving away from a transaction-focused business toward an increasingly customer-centric approach. Absa turned to a Microsoft Services Enterprise Strategy Consultant (ESC) to understand how Microsoft technology can help the bank meet its goals. Microsoft Services produced detailed IT architecture and planning roadmaps as well as an IT architecture services program plan containing a recommended execution path.
