The SAS Group, the Nordic region's largest listed airline and travel group, offers air transportation and airline-related services from its base in Northern Europe. The company wanted to eliminate fragmentation by creating a single reporting repository for operational financial information The challenge was to replace two obsolescent but highly functional Oracle Financial Analyzer systems with a single financial planning, reporting, and analysis system for all parts of the SAS Group. The company worked with Oracle Consulting to implement Oracle Database and Oracle OLAP as the foundation for an enterprise financial data warehouse, based on Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Application Server. It also deployed Oracle Warehouse Builder and Analytic Workspace Manager to create common processes for extracting data and loading it into the data warehouse.
