This paper introduces to both iMovie and FireWire, the high-speed cable system that transfers footage from the camcorder to the Mac, gives the reader a tour of the iMovie window, and walks through the first transfer. Apple says that iMovie HD requires a Mac OS X machine (10.3.4 or later) with at least 256 MB of memory; QuickTime 6.5.2 or later; 2 GB of free hard drive space and a screen that can show at least 1024 x 768 pixels.
