TCL Corporation manufactures consumer electronics, electronics components, and household appliances and provides mobile services. TCL uses Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to provide core enterprise-messaging functionality to more than 20,000 employees. The company continually seeks ways to reduce costs, streamline IT management, and provide its personnel with a highly reliable messaging system. To support these goals, TCL evaluated beta versions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. Although the evaluation is still in progress, TCL is finding that Exchange Server 2007 contributes to an IT environment that is more automated and easier to manage. The solution offers high availability and performance, and employees gain convenient, anywhere access to their messages.
