Seamless mobility. It's the hot topic of the day, and the year, for cable operators seeking to expand their portfolios of new digital services. With digital video and high-speed data products already in place, and voice quickly emerging as the industry's third main service category, cable operators are fervently exploring the wireless space as the next great digital frontier. Indeed, as the Wall Street Journal reported lately, at least five of North America's seven biggest MSOs are discussing a joint venture to deliver mobile communications services to consumers. As a result, they could soon add wireless phone service to their current "Triple-play" bundles of video, data and wireline phone services, creating a powerful new "Quadruple play."
