Texas-based Choice Energy LP is a leading independent energy brokerage firm in the United States, offering customers, such as corporations and utilities, market liquidity and price discovery. Because of rapid growth, the company quickly outgrew its mostly manual QuickBooks-based accounting system. To automate routine practices and increase reporting abilities, Choice Energy teamed up with the NexTec Group, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, to implement Microsoft Dynamics SL. The NexTec Group was able to customize and deploy the business management solution in just weeks. The robust reporting capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics SL enabled Choice Energy to move from quarterly financial reporting to monthly financial reporting. In addition, the detail-rich reports offered increased insight into broker activity, allowing for agile decision making by the company.
