EDS, a global supplier of technology services, was using disparate messaging solutions that were costly and difficult to manage. Mobile employees frequently had trouble accessing information including corporate e-mail messages and customer account data. To improve the management and reliability of its mobile messaging services, EDS implemented Windows Mobile version 5.0 with Direct Push Technology as part of its Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 environment. As a result, the company is saving an estimated monthly U.S.$15 per user and can easily add thousands more employees. The solution's more reliable service and easy-to-use interface have cut help-desk costs by 50 percent. In addition, better remote access to information has helped improve critical business processes and decision-making.
