The City of Deventer in the Netherlands wants to be one of the top 10 local authorities for delivering excellent services to area residents. City employees rely on e-mail and the telephone to complete their daily tasks and meet the organization's goals. The city wanted to improve its employees' mobile access to e-mail, to encourage personnel to work in the community. It chose a unified-messaging solution built on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. With Microsoft Office Outlook Voice Access, personnel can manage their e-mail using any phone while out of the office. They can have their e-mail read to them and choose to delete it or respond to it immediately through their phone.
