In the face of daunting business challenges in the Japanese insurance industry, Meiji Life recognized that the key to the successful restructuring of IT infrastructure is lightening its client-server system. Fujitsu Limited helped Meiji Life Insurance develop a Web-based system built on Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server and Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition. The new system lowered operational costs, including savings in equipment and maintenance. Further, fast access to centralized information enabled Meiji Life to bring new application cost-effectively.
