The Bracco Group is a leader in diagnostic imaging for the healthcare industry. It generates annual turnover of ?800 million (U.S.$1 billion), operates in 115 countries, and employs more than 2,100 people. To optimise IT management and reduce costs, the Bracco Group phased out e-mail and intranet applications based on Lotus Notes and Domino and standardised its IT systems on integrated Microsoft technologies. Working with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Microsys, Bracco Group deployed Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003. These new technologies have helped the company reduce the server infrastructure required at branches by 90 per cent. The Bracco Group has also streamlined IT management, improved collaboration among employees, and generated rapid return on its technology investment.
