Mellon Collection Services, based in Athens, Greece, wanted to upgrade its IT environment and its aging debt collection software to improve operational efficiencies and customer service. It acquired new Microsoft development tools for its IT staffers and productivity enhancing desktop software for its information workers using a Microsoft Open Value Volume Licensing agreement. Mellon anticipates increasing its customer engagements by 10 percent with its new Web-based collection services software - a flexible, customizable solution that integrates easily into clients' workflows. Productivity among its information workers is already up 10 percent. Under the terms of its licensing agreement, Mellon has upgraded 50 percent of its personal computers to the 2007 Microsoft Office release and Windows Vista operating system - at no extra cost.
