CONSOL Energy produces high-bituminous coal and coal mine methane gas. The company wanted to reduce data storage costs and manage data growth. The company also wanted to enable efficient data backup and recovery and reduce system administration overhead. As a solution the company installed a NetApp IP SAN system to store and manage its Windows File Services, Microsoft SQL server, Oracle Databases, and Microsoft Exchange applications for the company's 3,000 users.
