Intel NetStructure Host Media Processing (HMP) Software performs media processing tasks in general-purpose host processors in servers based on Intel Architecture without the need for special Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). This paper describes tests conducted by Intel engineers demonstrating that Intel NetStructure HMP offers significant cost advantages over traditional media processing boards without sacrificing performance.
