SAMSE, France's third largest building-materials merchant, has more than 100 points of sale, mainly located in the Rhone-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, Burgundy, and Franche-Comte regions. The challenge was to reduce IT infrastructure costs by deploying a platform on Linux and evolve the technological architecture to support Linux. The company upgraded financial applications to Oracle E-Business Suite 11i to realize new benefits, including improved response times and more flexible financial-information output.
