The Dynamic strategy for achieving better efficiency is simple: reduce the number of machines, reduce the number of disks, and therefore reduce the network's energy consumption. There is no reason to suffer a performance reduction to achieve these results; the same tactics used to increase energy efficiency can actually improve the network's performance. At the same time, these systems are designed to be easily adaptable, which increases the organization's overall agility in an era in which business moves at the speed of the IT infrastructure underneath. In short, these solutions are good for the environment, good for every company's competitive stance, and good for the bottom line.
