Midland is a leading third-party provider of servicing and technology solutions for the commercial real estate finance industry. Midland had a variety of third-party applications running on several different platforms and technologies. Its existing Enterprise system was based on the Microsoft Windows DNA architecture. After evaluating other options, Midland standardized on Microsoft Visual Basic .NET for all new development, Microsoft SQL Server for its database, and Visual Studio for development. This benefited the company with increase in functionality, interoperates with VB Objects, eases refactoring, MSMQ improves scalability and web services ease code reuse.
