British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is Canada's premier polytechnic institute, providing students with job-ready skills from industry-experienced faculty. The challenge was to provide a robust, scalable database environment; enable logging and recovery capabilities; allow operation on multiple operating systems; and support SunGard Higher Education Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. The company worked with SunGard Higher Education to implement Oracle Database 10g to provide a robust enterprise-system database that supports SunGard Higher Education Banner applications and supported BCIT's goal to create a unified digital campus.
