In 2002, the founders of endlichferien GbR, which translates to Finally, Vacation, started their business with only three customers in the North Sea region. The company wanted to implement a highly scalable system with around-the-clock online availability with the capacity to manage peak loads and accommodate growth of 50% to 60% per year. The challenge was to develop a booking system that easily integrates with the existing infrastructures of rental agencies and implement the system quickly and with no loss of revenue. The company implemented Oracle Database as the central element for data storage; also established a platform for growth - currently averaging 50,000 different visitors per month and developed the application with Oracle Application Express, ensuring lean architecture and transparent infrastructure.
