The University of the Witwatersrand is a major academic and research center focused on providing its students with world-class education. The university wanted to implement a cost-effective, scalable database infrastructure that provides the performance and flexibility to support essential university operations. The challenge was to streamline and accelerate Human Resources (HR) and financial administration applications and enable rapid access to student and related information required for government funding and compliance regulations. The university achieved a 360-degree view of business operations by using Oracle E-Business Suite applications to enable enhanced reporting, analysis, and planning and automated HR, payroll, and training processes, improving staff efficiency.
