Facom has created a new, interactive Web site for its customers. The new sales channel, which replaces a sales system based on Minitel technology, provides fast access to Facom's extensive product catalogue and allows customers to place online orders from anywhere in the world. The site, which is based on Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000, offers user profiling, order tracking, and inventory interrogation. It was designed and developed for Facom by Capgemini using the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Microsoft Visual C# .NET 2003, and Microsoft ASP.NET. Within two months of going live, the new site has significantly increased order numbers.
