The .NET Framework has extensive support for core and advanced XML technologies. Versions 1.0 and 1.1 provide support for XML pull parsers, XPath & XSLT engines, W3C XML validation, XML Web Services with SOAP 1.1 & WSDL 1.1, XML<->object mapping technologies and XML digital signatures. This paper provides an overview of the current state of XML in the .NET Framework and provides a peek at future additions to the .NET Framework such as XML schema inference and XQuery.
