TXU (Texas Utilities) is a leader in electric and natural gas services, energy trading, energy marketing, telecommunications, and other energy-related services. TXU was handling its remittance processing on a non-image Unisys platform. The process was labor-intensive and had high exceptions-processing costs including payment investigations. The company aimed a becoming the "Utility provider of choice" in a deregulated market. As a solution the company deployed four Unisys NDP 500s, one NDP 1150 and SoftCAR (Software-based Courtesy Amount Recognition), which increased their CAR kill rates. Their volume increase justified implementing the first NDP 1150 at a Unisys remittance center.
