The development of Web applications makes use of the .iba (Internet Base Architecture) framework, which is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework. An enhancement of this .iba framework called BASE (Basic Authentication SErvices) now opens up far more effective and audit compliant access management and authentication processes. Moreover, through single sign-on, users need to register just once for all permitted applications. Working on BASE, developers at Volkswagen Bank have been using Windows Workflow Foundation, an element of the Windows Vista operating system.
