The fashion industry changes continually, so sales and business processes must be quick and precise. For Danish fashion supplier Wearhouse, handwriting customer orders that were fraught with errors and took three weeks to process was no longer acceptable. With partner Andy Wigley Computing, the company created a mobile device-based solution that uses Windows Mobile 5.0 software, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition, and the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework. Sales representatives use the solution - which automates the entire order-entry and fulfillment process - while visiting customer sites to take orders using barcode scanning.
