This paper proposes an evaluation method of large-scale distributed hash tables by network emulator that allows evaluating not only Distributed Hash Table (DHT) algorithms but also DHT implementations. Evaluating DHT implementations is important for DHT application developers since it influences how an application utilizes a DHT. The authors built a platform to support their method and evaluated four implementations with various scenarios. The evaluation results show that the method is useful for evaluating the performance of DHT implementations in practical and complex environments.
