With an annual turnaround of 35,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables, Galil Kirur Cold Storage is the largest facility of its kind in Israel. In order to maintain its leading position in food storage, the company challenged itself to maximise the efficiency of the produce management process from harvest to distribution, while improving safety on site. As well as minimising the risk to staff in the warehouse, Galil Kirur wished to develop an electronic tracking system that would enable central records to be kept up to date, and help workers to quickly identify the location of any given crate. Galil Kirur enlisted the support of Intel, local RFID solutions developer Galbital and IT provider Anagal to transform its logistical processes.
