AwalNet is the Middle East and Gulf region's largest internet service provider. It supports many co-location hosting clients, including some of the region's key financial organisations, as well as providing broadband internet services to nearly 45,000 private and business customers. The company wanted to strengthen its impact on the hosting market to continue its steady growth in this area. They also needed to improve service to internet customers by developing new offerings and increasing billing effectiveness. To meet its requirement for a powerful high performance IT infrastructure, AwalNet tested its new billing software and hosting applications on 15 Dual-Core Intel Itanium 2 processor-based servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and an Oracle 10g database.
