A retailer needs to migrate 40 Oracle-based applications from a proprietary UNIX platform to a lower-cost, highly scalable, available, flexible and manageable IT infrastructure using Intel architecture-based servers and Linux. As a solution the company implemented PolyServe Matrix Server shared-data clustering software enables Intel architecture-based servers to share Storage Area Network (SAN) data in a configuration that can be managed as a single unit with no single point of failure.
