This paper covers the installation of NetApp storage in a NFS environment for IBM AIX 5L on IBM System p5 550Q, model 9133-55A. A single IBM System p5 550Q in multiple independent Logical PARtitions (LPARs) running AIX 5L Version 5.3 Technology Level 4 (5300-04) operating system. The database is Oracle 10g Real Application Clusters release 2 (Oracle 10gR2 RAC). The focus of this paper is technical, and the reader should be comfortable with AIX and LPAR systems administration, Oracle 10g Database administration, network connectivity, and NetApp system administration.
