At first it was "Only" the exhausted connection capacity of the existing telephone system, which had been in use since 1991, that caused the team gathered around Head of Information and Knowledge Management at Worwag - to take a closer look at the telecommunications system that had evolved over the years. It soon became clear that replacing the telephone system alone would not be sufficient. The increased requirements with regard to flexibility, cost effectiveness and the optimizing of complete processes called for a more holistic approach. This is why Worwag opted for an all-round solution from Avaya-Tenovis at the beginning of 2003, including a standardized, IP-based communication platform operating within an outsourcing agreement.
