This paper describes a User Controlled Lightpath provisioning and configuration management system. The system allows users to obtain network resources from multiple domains and combine these resources forming Articulated Private Networks. This unique ability to acquire lightpaths, interfaces, and tunnels from a variety of suppliers, and offer value added services to end customers, is the trend for next generation networking. The system is designed and implemented based on a Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services Resource Framework (WSRF) specifications.
