In this paper, the authors present a new approach to End User Development of large-scale distributed systems based on the Service Oriented Computing. The authors have designed Simple Service Composition Language (SSCL), a simple programming language for web service composition. SSCL is a statement-based language designed for process-oriented web service composition. It provides easy-to-use environment for rapid end-user development of distributed applications. In addition, the authors designed and implemented distributed translator for translating the SSCL into Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL). The generated WS-BPEL code is ready for execution in any WS-BPEL compliant environment.
