TELUS, Canada's market leader for mission-critical IT infrastructure and application hosting, is constantly aiming to reduce technology costs for its customers. To meet that goal more effectively, TELUS will offer hosted environments using virtual machines running on Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 and Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The company expects server consolidation and greater administrator productivity to cut IT infrastructure and hosting costs. TELUS envisions a self-serve Web interface that will make it possible for customers to provision additional servers, or additional resources on existing servers, at their convenience. Automated provisioning will even enable servers and resources to come online and offline according to preset schedules or as required based on demand for resources.
