This paper outlines the reference architecture, step-by-step instructions on how to implement the architecture, and the support model for this configuration. The main goal of this architecture is to provide a method for the instrumented PowerEdge server and its internal storage to send SNMP alerts. The architecture separates the server from the storage and details instructions specific to each of the two subsystems. Although the information presented in this paper is not 9th-generation PowerEdge servers-specific, the architecture has been tested only on 9th-generation servers, thus it is supported only on these platforms.
