Because L&T-Chiyoda Limited (LTC) works on the confidential design requirements of large companies, security and quality certifications are critical in attracting and bringing in new business from new as well as existing customers. While implementing the BS7799 certification (the most widely recognised security standard in the world, dealing with controls to audit and manage the information of an organisation), it was mandatory for LTC to have an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software. However, without an automated solution, discovering the number of licensed operating systems and application licenses within their environment presented a big challenge. After extensively evaluating several solutions, LTC chose the Unicenter solution from CA.
