Founded in 1833, Lafarge is one of the world's leaders in building materials. The issue was to unify the group's human resources and pay systems by implementing a single, all-encompassing human capital management tool. The company wanted to optimize the management of employees throughout the group and within individual business divisions and track global assignments. They also wanted to provide reliable employee information to HR managers at every level to better identify their skills and facilitate career progress within the group. Oracle allowed the company to globally manage, on a centralized system, the entire needs in terms of HR management for the group's 16,000 managers' careers, profiles, skills and recruitments management.
