USIS is a leading provider of background screening and investigation services, including pre-employment and government clearance screening, and employs approximately four thousand mobile staff members nationwide. USIS's desire to improve mobile communications for its field and corporate teams led to an interest in implementing a standardized mobile solution. During a 90-day pilot beginning in late summer of 2006, staff members from the three major divisions at USIS (mobile sales, field management and corporate), were equipped with handheld devices powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MFSP). MFSP provided Direct Push Technology, allowing USIS to use its existing Outlook Web Access to give mobile USIS users improved Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks functionalities.
