The AMRADS project aims to transfer identified current best practice from centres of excellence to NSIs according to their needs. This paper describes the AMRADS theme "Data Quality" - concerned exclusively with identifying a manageable collection of statistical techniques (such as estimating survey non-response, editing, imputation, weighting, estimating sampling and non-sampling error, and data visualisation) that can be widely adopted, and being a catalyst in facilitating sharing current best methods. The paper presents some initial ideas of techniques and know-how that could be shared. The purpose is initially to stimulate discussion at the ETK conference and encourage volunteers to join a network for sharing ideas via email and the Web.
