This paper puts forward recommendations for improving the quality of Energy Information Administration (EIA) data related to Alternative-Fueled Vehicles (AFVs). Due to increasing interest in AFV data from customers both internal and external to EIA, it is all the more important to collect quality data concerning AFVs. Data important to EIA include the number, type, and location of AFVs in use, Alternative Transportation Fuel (ATF) consumption by AFVs, and average annual Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) for AFVs.
