Measurement and reporting the quality of statistical data has become an important issue in past few years. A number of national and international organisations have proposed a list of criteria to be used for describing the quality of statistical products. However, empirical investigations show that application of these standards is rather poor. Consequently assessing quality in connection with data reuse is often not possible. It is the aim of this paper to couple quality issues for statistical data closer to the production process.
