The Care Record Development Board has commissioned Ethics Advisory Group (EAG) to examine and report upon the ethical issues of data quality in relation to the NHS Care Record Service. This paper describes the dimensions of data quality; indicates where there may be issues of data quality that arise specifically from the implementation of NCRS; identifies some of the consequent ethical issues; suggests relevant stakeholders; and offers recommendations to CRDB.
