This paper explains what a macro array is, how to put text into it, and how to loop (iterate) over the text values stored in it. Two macros, %ARRAY and %DO_OVER, make the use of macro arrays painless and fun. Macro %DO-looping is common practice in many programs using the macro language. Unfortunately, the usual solutions involve somewhat awkward macro syntax, with double ampersands and macro definitions which can break up the continuity of programs. These two macros allow hiding the repetitive machinery, resulting in programs that are shorter and more readable.
