La majorité des professionnels de la sécurité Web et réseau connaissent les certificats SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) et le rôle essentiel qu'ils jouent dans une infrastructure de sécurité Web. Cependant, nombre de ces mêmes professionnels connaissent peu ou mal un protocole extrêmement important, qui fonctionne avec la technologie SSL et peut modifier du tout au tout le niveau de protection offert aux visiteurs d'un site Web. Il s'agit du protocole SGC ou Server Gated Cryptography. L'utilisation d'un certificat SSL intégrant la technologie SGC augmente le niveau de cryptage disponible pour de nombreux visiteurs du site et garantit que le plus grand nombre de visiteurs se connecte avec un cryptage de 128 bits ou plus.
