La mayoría de los profesionales de seguridad en Internet y en redes son conscientes de la vital importancia de los certificados SSL (Secured Sockets Layer) en su plataforma de seguridad global en Internet. Sin embargo, muchos de estos mismos profesionales apenas si tienen conocimiento de un protocolo extremadamente importante dentro de SSL, uno con el potencial para alterar radicalmente el nivel de protección ofrecido a cualquier visitante del sitio web. Ese protocolo es Server Gated Cryptography o SGC. El uso de un certificado SSL con capacidad SGC aumenta el nivel de cifrado disponible para muchos visitantes del sitio Web y de hecho garantiza que el mayor número posible de visitantes se conectará con un cifrado SSL de 128 bits o más potente.
